inc. VATShear locks offer a concealed mechanism and are designed for applications where the door can swing up to 180 degrees. When the shear lock detects the door in the closed position, the magnet draws the armature plate up into the lock frame. Generally a 2 -3 mm gap between the top of the door and the frame is optimum for the electromagnet to attract the armature plate and keep the door locked.
The BVS-SHR-1500 series of shear locks is available in two models, the popular BVS-SHR-1500 standard unmonitored version and the BVS-SHR-1500M model with hall-effect monitoring that provides a switch-contact output (SPDT rated 3.0A @ 12V DC) to indicate the maglock status for systems that require monitoring.
